Youth Stratigraphy Workshop to Celebrate International Archaeology Day!

International Archaeology Day is coming up on Saturday, October 17th, and to celebrate we are inviting young archaeologists (ages 10-14) to the museum for a Youth Stratigraphy Workshop that will be right up their alley!

Stratigraphy is the study of how layers of soil are deposited and overlap.  Archaeologists use stratigraphy to learn how old things are relative to each other.  During the workshop young archaeologists will discover how archaeologists read sites by looking at the layers of soil, and will be able to examine stratigraphy models as well as take part in hands on activities.

Date: Saturday, October 17th, 2015
Time: 1:30-3:00
Cost: non-members $3 (includes admission); members free

*There are still spots for today’s workshop! Feel free to drop by just before 1:30 if your young archaeologist would like to participate!
Please drop by, call us (519-473-1360), or email info@archaeologymuseum.ca to register in advance.
