Pre-Booked Tours


The Museum of Ontario Archaeology welcomes visitors back at a reduced capacity, visitors must pre-book tours at least 24 hours in advance.
The museum is not open for walk-ins at this time.

Closures: The Museum of Ontario Archaeology will be closed from Friday, December 24th through until Monday, January 3rd. We will not be offering tours at this time, but look forward to welcoming you back in the New Year!

For the health and safety of our visitors, collections, volunteers, and staff, you will find some changes. We actively monitor the COVID-19 situation in the Middlesex-London community, and these services may change at any time.

As of October 1st, 2021, visitors who are eligible should be fully vaccinated, defined by the province of Ontario as two-doses plus 14 days. The outdoor venues of the museum are available to visitors who are not able to be fully vaccinated.

What to Expect

  • Answer pre-screening questions honestly prior to starting your visit;     
  • Masks must be worn indoors (ages 2 and up);
  • Maintain 2 meters/6 feet of distance from members outside of your party;   
  • Vaccine compliance to the highest standard possible for a visitor’s age and condition;
  • Hand sanitizer and washrooms are available for hand washing;     
  • All Museum staff and volunteers wear face coverings, are fully vaccinated and screened daily; 
  • Surfaces and contact points cleaned regularly, as well as before and after each visit;     
  • Have a safe and enjoyable visit!

Please Postpone your Visit if

  • You or anyone in your party are not fully vaccinated (second dose plus 2 weeks – recognized exemptions excluded);
  • You or anyone in your party are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms;
  • Anyone that you or your party resides with are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and are awaiting test results;
  •  You or anyone in your party have been required to quarantine in the last 14 days;  
  • A doctor, health-care provider, or public health unit has told you or anyone in your party that you should currently be isolating;
  • You or anyone in your party has tested positive on a rapid antigen test or home-based self-testing kit in the past 10 days.

We are currently offering two tour options a General Tour or a Family Field Trip.
These tours run Tuesday to Saturday at 10 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM respectively and are subject to guide availability.
We require at least 24 hours notice for all tours.


General Tours

Our General Tour is approximately an hour in length and led by our knowledgeable guides who will take visitors through the Lawson Site and our permanent galleries.

We have several options for this tour:

  • Group of up to 5 – $15
  • Group of up to 10 – $30
  • Group of up to 20 – $60


Family Field Trip

Our Family Field Trip is approximately 90 minutes in length. In addition to a tour of the Lawson Site and permanent galleries, this option also includes a workshop, suitable for all ages.

We have several options for this tour:

  • Group of up to 5 – $25
  • Group of up to 10 – $50
  • Group of up to 20 – $100

  • Longhouse Diorama
  • Drawing Activity and Bean Planting
