Medway Heritage Festival

Join us for a new summer festival as we celebrate the cultural and natural history of the “Forest City’s” namesake. Enjoy a walk through Medway Valley and seep in the cultural heritage of the ancient Indigenous village beneath your feet as you visit the grounds of the Lawson Site.
This event also features:
- A vibrant vendor market with local makers and businesses
- A Birds of Prey Show by the Canadian Raptor Conservancy
- Indigenous Storytelling
- Guided hikes with Upper Thames River Conservation Authority & Friends of Medway Creek
- Beehive Demonstration with LOLA Bees
- Pottery Demonstration with Clayworx: Ceramic Arts Learning Centre (Register for Pit Firing 101)
- Children Activities
- Raffles
- And so much more!
Schedule:
- LOLA Bees: Beekeeping Demonstrations @ 10:15 AM
- Canadian Raptor Conservancy: Birds of Prey Show @ 11 AM & 1 PM
- Storytelling with Elder Mary-Lou Smoke from 12 PM to 1 PM
- Friends of Medway Creek & UTRCA: Guided Hike at 12:15 PM 1 PM
- Clayworx: Pottery Demonstrations from 10 AM – 2 PM (**Pitfiring 101 Workshop at 2:30pm)
- MOA: Sunflower Planting from 10 AM to 2 PM

Looking for to get some volunteer hours?
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Medway Heritage Festival which takes place on June 14th from 10 AM to 2 PM.
We’re looking for volunteers (high school age and up) to assist with a variety of tasks including:
- Assisting with our tables (inc. activities)
- Set up and take-down
- Assisting with food (lunch for volunteers etc)
- Parking helpers to direct traffic
- Help with setting up signage
- And more!
