Spring/Summer 2013

Cultural Circle Day
June 20th
A unique hands-on cultural experience for your class. Participate in workshops ranging from First Nation drumming, dancing, art, language, and others. Please contact the Museum to book your class. Maximum of 5 classes (30 students each) per day.

Wilfrid Jury Archaeology Day
Saturday, July 27 from 10 am – 4 pm
Be an archaeologist for the day! Take part in demonstrations including simulated digging, grid making, archaeological flotation, artifact identification, and archaeology of plants. We welcome aspiring archaeologists of all ages!

Summer Day Camp & Dig-It Archaeology Camp
Kids age 5-9 can join us for camp all summer long. Weekly and daily rates available. Click here for more details.
Youth age 10-14 with a keen interest in archaeology will dig into the fun of being an archaeologist. July 10-12 & Aug 7-9. Click here for more details.

Sweat Lodge/ Purification Ceremonies
The Museum is the host site for the Sweat Lodge/Purification Ceremony, occurring every full moon. For details, send an email to the coordinator, or call the Museum to request contact information.
Next ceremonies: April 25, May 25, June 23, July 22, Aug 20 at sunset.

 

Pow Wow 2013

Annual Traditional Pow Wow & Native Harvest Festival
September 14 & 15 2013 from 10 am – 4 pm
Experience aboriginal dancing, drumming, a traditional Pow Wow, children’s activities, cultural vendors, traditional native food, demonstrations and more! Our Pow Wow website will be up and running shortly. In the meantime, please contact us if you have any questions.
