Sustainable Archaeology

sustainable archaeology

Sustainable Archaeology is a collaborative research initiative between Western University and McMaster University, funded by the Canadian Foundation for Innovation and the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation. Sustainable Archaeology: Western, an affiliate of the Museum of Ontario Archaeology, and Sustainable Archaeology: McMaster are digital archaeological research facilities and repositories that curate and hold in-trust archaeological collections generated through commercial and academic archaeology in Ontario. Together the two facilities will house over 86,000 boxes, containing millions of artifacts from across Ontario. Sustainable Archaeology facilitates research, Descendant community and public access to these archaeological collections through its Informational Platform, a publically accessible web-based database system.
